settled by refugees from the Downfall, during Age 1 of the Commonwealth
Universe books. Right now there are two books, WIND WALKER and MOONBIRDS, but there are plans for a third story, PEACE VILLAGE, that will sort of "wrap
up" any dangling threads from the previous two books. Enjoy!<br />

<i>No, that's not spelled wrong. That's a revision and deliberate twisting to get your attention.</i><br />
<br />
Hi, this is Michelle Levigne, speaking to anyone who is still out there!!!!<br />
If you don't know who I am, or you haven't heard of any of my books, here's my website and blogs, or visit me on Facebook ....<br />
<a href="http://www.mlevigne.com/">www.Mlevigne.com</a><br />
<a href="http://www.michellelevigne.blogspot.com/">www.MichelleLevigne.blogspot.com</a><br />
<a href="http://www.tabor-heights-today.blogspot.com/">www.Tabor-Heights-Today.blogspot.com</a><br />
<br />
I need a CREW to help me promote my books. Because honestly, there's just too much to do, too many places to reach, and I have too many commitments to handle it myself.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKroUvkt1cEgAzXEXS_diPzn4hxSFy36vxpkh9D9GY2hw5CUznfvNPB9_rS0nEYopgJjtG_ePvx4gEYUmIJkJPWay5j_-KXESwJt95hFf-GIubHVZX6vmI4krgPv3R95nBFCb-dOfuz8Hx/s1600/Vacation.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKroUvkt1cEgAzXEXS_diPzn4hxSFy36vxpkh9D9GY2hw5CUznfvNPB9_rS0nEYopgJjtG_ePvx4gEYUmIJkJPWay5j_-KXESwJt95hFf-GIubHVZX6vmI4krgPv3R95nBFCb-dOfuz8Hx/s200/Vacation.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>
<br />
So, would you join my CROO?<br />
It's just in the planning stages, but here are some definites:<br />
<i>Inside news on upcoming books.</i><br />
<i>Sneak peeks at artwork</i><br />
<i>A chance to weigh in on works-in-progress</i><br />
<i>Goodies, like T-shirts, mousepads, and other fun stuff as I find it.</i><br />
<i>A chance to voice your opinion on stories and characters and offer suggestions/requests for future stories, and advice/volunteer to help me promote my books.</i><br />
<i>And .... FREE books. Actually, ARCs -- Advance Review Copies. You'll get the uncorrected ARCs for my books when I get them, when my publishers send them to me for last-chance-to-fix-that-really-STOOOOOOPID-glitch-before-you-embarrass-yourself-in-public.</i><br />
<br />
Well, maybe the books won't be free, and not everyone in the CROO will get one -- just the people who are interested in that particular series -- <b>because I will ask you to very kindly write and post REVIEWS of the books you get to read before everyone else.</b> Yeah, places like Amazon and Goodreads and B&N and other review sites. Be honest, but be nice??? Okay???? If you don't like the book, if it let you down completely, hmmmm, maybe just don't say anything? I'm not asking you to lie through your teeth and be like the worst used car salesman in the world, but if you could convince other people to read the book, that would be splendiferous!<br />
<br />
<b>Here's how to join:</b><br />
Go to Facebook, find either of my pages, either personal or writing -- they're both public. Send me a message saying you want to join the CROO, and then send me a friend request. When I approve the friend request, I'll send you the invite to join the CROO page -- <i>because this is a private, closed group. Only people who join can see what everyone is saying, can join the fun, participate in our plotting for world domination. You know, like Pinkie and the Brain did every week for three seasons ...</i><br />
<br />

ODESSA FREMONT, prequel to "Guardians of the Time Stream"<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Are you ready for some time travel, gizmos, and tough chicks? </span><div>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">In April, ODESSA FREMONT, the prequel to the Guardians of the Time Stream steampunk series by Michelle Levigne, will be released by Desert Breeze Publishing. This could be labeled a YA, as Ess is only 14 when she decides to run away from boarding school. By the time she screeches to a halt at the end of the book -- thanks to train robbers, the Pinkertons and a bullet! -- she's worked with the Secret Service and saved President Lincoln's life (so he can run for a 4th term!) and worked for the circus. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">New this month from <a href="http://www.mlevigne.com/">Michelle Levigne</a> and <a href="http://www.desertbreezepublishing.com/quarry-hall-book-eight-nikkis-test-epub/">Desert Breeze Publishing</a> -- book Eight in the Quarry Hall series of women's fiction/suspense.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<a href="http://www.desertbreezepublishing.com/quarry-hall-book-eight-nikkis-test-epub/"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><b>NIKKI'S TEST</b></span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Nikki’s first
courier job included picking up Brooklyn from vacation and bringing her home to
Quarry Hall. Before she got there, Brooklyn called, speaking in code, hinting
at mysteries and danger. When Nikki arrived in Harper’s Point, Brooklyn was
nowhere to be found.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Staying in town to
search for Brooklyn while pretending not to suspect anything was harder than it
sounded. Her questions never got the same answer twice, and it wasn’t long
before she decided people were lying to her, and then spying on her.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">A letter from
Brooklyn provided some answers and Quarry Hall got to work. Joan hurried to
Harper’s Point, fearing for Nikki’s safety. Before she could arrive, the enemy
struck. Now the question was if Nikki’s training would keep her and Brooklyn
alive until rescue came.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><b>Excerpt</b></i></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Suddenly, the
feeling of being in a revised Mayberry popped and shriveled up like a shredded
balloon. If Chester, who looked so jolly and friendly, could be a liar and
untrustworthy, what did that say about other people here? Who could she trust
if Brooklyn and the sheriff could both vanish, especially when Brooklyn was
expecting Nikki to come get her?</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">"I'll go check
into the hotel and come back, check if there's any news," she said.
"Thanks."</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">"No problem,
darling." Chester winked at her and nodded like a genial old grandfather.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Nikki felt like his
eyes were digging holes in her back until she had stepped outside and moved
beyond the glass doors. She shuddered. Maybe Chester was mental, or just slow
but functional? Shouldn't he have at least asked for her name, since she was
looking for the sheriff and Brooklyn? Shouldn't he have figured that she would
have a cell phone, so she wouldn't need a hotel room number where she could be
reached? Besides, no matter how small this town was, Nikki seriously doubted
anyone could check into a hotel room at barely nine in the morning.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Gray whined and
leaped ahead of her, tugging her down the sidewalk. He led her to a telephone
pole, where a man was using a manual staple gun to attach a legal-size sheet of
neon pink paper to the pole. Nikki stayed a few steps back from him, waiting
until he finished, glanced at her, then headed down the sidewalk. He had a
sheaf of those pink sheets tucked under his arm. Nikki stepped up to the pole
to see what was on the sheet. The color sparked a sense that she should know
what was on the poster already.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">The picture was of a
little girl, with "Lost" in big letters that spanned the entire width
of the paper, above and below the picture.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">A chill washed over
her, then her heart skipped a few beats and started racing.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">That was the little
girl she had seen just a few hours ago, wandering through the meadow by the
side of the road. She was positive.</span></div>

Today's featured book was a fun one.<br />
<br />
It actually started life as a script ... an actual TV script, submitted and considered, by the writing team at .......<br />
<br />
MACGYVER!<br />
<br />
So yeah, turning it from a TV script 45 minutes long, into a feature film 120 minutes long, and then into a novel .... took quite a few years of waiting and revising. But it was fun.<br />

I'm especially proud of this book because all of Tommy Donnelly's comedy material -- and his smart-alec attitude and his doorknob-level-view-of-life is based on my brother, Dean -- also a wheelchair-bound comedian.<br />

I've been planning on this story for several years. When I originally started pulling all my individually written novels together and refined them into the town of Tabor Heights, I had WHEELS in mind ........ but I had to establish the Mission and other relationships, such as Clair and Paul and Sammy and where they were in their marriage, before I could finally tell Tommy's story, and that fateful week when the "girl next door" finally came back into his life.<br />

Blessed Thanksgiving to all of you!<br />
<br />
Please, please, please ..... tell me you slept in this morning, and if you didn't, that it was only to get up and cook, get the feast started. PLEASE tell me you aren't out there shopping already. I mean, honestly ....<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3vtGeIr-XUs/VlcKMKweEyI/AAAAAAAACnw/KMWj4_86z1M/s1600/007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3vtGeIr-XUs/VlcKMKweEyI/AAAAAAAACnw/KMWj4_86z1M/s320/007.jpg" width="213" /></a>Today is the 7th book in the countdown toward the 20th and final book in the Tabor Heights series. In 2016 I'll be starting a new series called Guardians of the Time Stream -- a Steampunk series. At least, MY version of steampunk. I'm still learning about the genre, you might say.<br />
<br />
Our heroine is Odessa Fremont -- her friends all her Ess -- 14 years old, left behind at a stultifying boarding school while her archaeologist grandparents head off to South America. Then she discovers some nefarious activities carried out by the headmistress and her brother, who are part of a group wanting to start the Civil War all over again ... along with a lot of other nasty things and secrets and pretty much trying to turn clever girls into featherheads. That's just the beginning of her adventures. Look for ODESSA FREMONT, as our heroine sets off into the wide world of Pinkerton agents, Secret Service agents, airships, steam engines, President Lincoln running for his 4th term in office .... and several secret societies who are very interested in Ess and what she might know.<br />
<br />
<br />
Happy Thanksgiving!<br />

<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The newest release in the Commonwealth Universe, from <a href="http://www.writers-exchange.com/Nova-Vendetta-2.html">Writers Exchange</a>:</span></div>

<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">NOVA VENDETTA #2: The Truce</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Niall and his crew were just centimeters away from freedom, escaping in the stolen starship they had christened the Nova Vendetta. Then disaster struck, paralyzing their ship. Retaken as prisoners, they found themselves transported on the very ship that had been their ticket to freedom.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then the unthinkable happened: experimental technology and a risky gamble put the ship under their control. The escaped prisoners headed for the furthest reaches of known space, determined to stay free at any cost. </span></div>

<div style="margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Labeled rebels and pirates and criminals, they held to the principles that had let them survive and stay Human during their time in prison. To the outlying colonies slowly being abandoned by the disintegration of the Central Allied Worlds, the crew of the Nova Vendetta and its slowly growing fleet of allies were heroes in the truest sense of the word.</span></div>

Coming in mid-October from <a href="http://www.desertbreezepublishing.com/brands/Michelle-Levigne-.html?page=2&sort=featured">Desert Breeze Publishing</a>, the 7th book in the Quarry Hall series of women's fiction/suspense by <a href="http://www.mlevigne.com/">Michelle Levigne</a>:<br />
<br />
ANNE'S OGRE<br />
<br />
Anne has been healing from the trauma of her childhood, including facing the lawyer who defended the Ogre -- her name for the man who raped her and murdered her parents. Now, the dark, mysterious pasts of other residents of Quarry Hall are converging with her past, and she faces the greatest test of her faith and healing and strength.<br />
<br />
George is a battered, broken man with no memory of the cold, vicious assassin he once was. Vincent, head of security for Quarry Hall and the Arc Foundation, would prefer George never remember. To everyone else, George is a fumbling, adorable, obsessive-compulsive mechanical genius, and they love him.<br />
<br />
But when George gets his picture in a national magazine, the skeletons in the closet start rattling. Anne joins in the fight to effort to defend George. When the Black Prince who rescued her as a child returns to her life, so does the Ogre.<br />
<br />
In the end, no one will emerge unchanged and unscathed.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
<i>Melissa Keir has always wanted to be an author when she
wasn’t hoping for a career as a race car driver. Her love of books was
instilled by her mother and grandparents who were avid readers. She’d often
sneak books away from them so that she could fantasize about those strong alpha
males and plucky heroines. In middle school and high school, Melissa used
to write sappy love poems and shared them with her friends and still has those
poems today! In college her writing changed to sarcastic musings on life as
well as poems with a modern twist on fairy tales and won awards for her
writing. You can find many of these musings along with her latest releases on
her website and blog. Her stories feature small towns and happily ever after!

<span style="font-size: large;">LONDON HOLIDAY</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><i>The new Neighborlee, Ohio book by Michelle Levigne</i></span><br />
<br />
What happens when you combine a weird video camera (with triangular batteries), a computer programming assignment, an attack by an interdimensional invader, and the magic of Divine's Emporium?<br />
<br />
Athena Longfellow and her cousin, Doni Halliday, find out the hard way when they learn they have the task/talent to be "guardians" for the odd little town of Neighborlee -- the weirdness capital of the United States, possibly of the world. When they start having dreams that "eavesdrop" on a recurring enemy of their town trying to break through the dimensional barriers, an overnight stay at Divine's ends up with Athena chasing a doppelganger of Doni through a weird, mirror version of the shop.<br />
<br />
Several years later, they are still feeling the repercussions as Athena starts college and participates in an experimental computer programming class. When they use Doni as the "face" of the fictional host of a social networking site, London Holiday is born ... and the weirdness only escalates.<br />
<br />
Who, or what, is London Holiday?<br />
<br />
Read the book, from <a href="http://www.uncialpress.com/London-Holiday.html">Uncial Press</a>, to find out!<br />
<br />
Other titles set in Neighborlee, Ohio include: <b><i>Divine's Emporium, Have Yourself a Faerie Little Christmas,</i></b> and <b><i>Divine Knight</i></b>. Note: The events of <b><i>London Holiday</i></b> take place before the other three books.<br />

<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<b>EXCERPT</b></div>
“I’ll remove my hand, if you promise…”<br /><br />Brent shouldn’t have reminded her about his hand. The next thing he knew she was biting down on it a second time. Adding insult to injury, she shoved him in the chest as hard as she could at the same time, catching him unaware. Before he had a chance to recover she took advantage of the moment by pushing herself away from the wall and taking flight.<br /><br />“Damn it!” Brent grunted in anger. She managed to descend one step before he tangled a hand in her hair and hauled her back into his arms. A cry escaped her but Brent ignored it. He yanked her roughly against him. “Bite me again and you’ll find out what it feels like,” he muttered between his teeth.<br /><br />“Who are you?” she asked softly. Brent felt her slight tremble and steeled himself for what he had to do. “What do you want?”<br /><br />“One question at a time, princess.” Brent realized he had to assert his dominance early on if he wanted to remain in control of the situation. Not giving much thought to the consequences, he pushed Sophie up against the concrete wall and leaned in close, threatening her with his superior strength and size.<br /><br />His actions had repercussions he wasn’t anticipating though. Like the rush of heat surging through his blood, turning the victim in his arms into a desirable woman. Wrestling with her provided conditions he hadn’t counted on. Appealing circumstances which could easily upset the scheme of things if he let it.<br /><br />Too much body contact for one.<br /><br />“I demand you keep your hands to yourself!” she whispered sharply.<br /><br />“Do you now?” he said softly, amused at her haughty tone. “You’re not in any position to demand anything.” With every breath Brent took, he could smell her. Beyond the light scent of soap and perfume, to the sensuous woman beneath. A sexy combination of innocence and know-how. It was playing havoc with his senses, preventing him from keeping a clear head. He swore beneath his breath. Nothing good was going to come of this.<br /><br />She was tall like he liked his women but he wasn’t into rich, spoiled, society types who held themselves above others, thinking they were better than everyone else. He’d watched Sophie long enough to know she was used to the best in life and probably demanded it. A woman who let society rule her emotions, not her heart. He recalled her quiet, almost suffering acceptance of Lord touching and kissing her, putting up with it because it was expected of her and not because she’d liked it. That action alone told him a lot about her.<br /><br />She was probably as cold as a block of ice in bed.<br /><br />“I demand you tell me who you are and what this is all about,” she said in a frigid tone, confirming his thoughts.<br /><br />Her snooty tone grated on his nerves. “Demand all you want, princess, it won’t get you anywhere.” He was glad she’d broken his train of thought. He could care less what she was like in bed and would do well to remember that. What’s more, he doubted her father would appreciate his wayward notions. Brent respected and liked Senator Adams. It was because of that reason alone he was doing this in the first place.<br /><br />This, meaning kidnapping. So far Sophie was more trouble than he’d anticipated which could cause serious problems down the road. He’d have to watch her like a hawk. It hadn’t taken her long to get the drop on Tom. Well, she’d learn soon enough that he wasn’t a pushover. “Come on.” He yanked her away from the wall.<br /><br />“Let me go!” She tried to pull free. “Ouch! You’re hurting me! I’m not going anywhere with you!”<br /><br />Brent swung around and pulled her up against him. “You have a choice, lady; you can come with me the easy way, or like a sack of potatoes over my shoulder."</div>

<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
Heather Carter, a gentle psychic with
a painful secret, struggles against danger and her attraction to the former
covert agent, Quinn Archer.</div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>She can command the winds, but does she dare reveal
her paranormal gifts?</div>

<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Quinn, betrayed in the past by a woman with secrets,
is stunned by his desire for Heather, a desire he fights. But as he takes on
the self-appointed task to protect her, will he learn too late that loving
Heather will free him from the chains of the past?</div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
EXCERPT:</div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
As she stepped out of the sliding door
onto the flagstone patio in her back yard, the stones were cool under her bare
feet. A waxing quarter moon had risen. Its light bathed the gardens in a faint
silvery light, adding threads of power to the spell she’d soon work. Soft wind
stirred the roses and honeysuckle, mixing their lush fragrances with the spice
of stocks and sage.</div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
Carrying a basket over one arm, she
crossed the lawn to a small section of yard hidden by vine-draped fencing.
Kneeling on the shortclipped grass, she spread a square of deep purple linen.
Then she quickly arranged a smooth granite rock polished by desert winds on the
north corner, a fallen feather at the east corner, a white candle in its rose
quartz holder to the south, and water in a polished bronze dish in the west. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
In the middle, she laid the ceramic
chimes Brianna had shaped and decorated, just as she had for her other students
the first month of school. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
Breathing deeply, Heather readied
herself to enter the quiet pool of receptiveness. The image of Quinn as warrior
king surfaced in her mind. She put the recollection aside, centered her
thoughts, and let herself slide into the cool realm of power. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
As she moved her right hand in circles
over each elemental tool clockwise, beginning with the stone, she chanted: </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>“Earth, empower my spell. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
Air, empower my spell. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
Fire, empower my spell </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
Water, empower my spell.” </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
The rhythms of the earth filled her
body, resonating in her bones. Her blood pulsed to the primal beat. A sudden
wind whipped her hair and molded her dress to her body. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
She turned her face toward the starlit
sky and raised her hands, palms up, to receive the goddess’s blessing. Silver
strands of moonlight poured the heat and passion of love through her. The
gentle rain of purification and healing lifted her higher. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
The time had come. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
Gathering the power of all the love
and healing flowing into her, she held her right hand above the chimes and
poured out a spell of restoration and protection. </div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="Body" style="text-align: justify;">
When it was complete, she bowed her
head and breathed her thanks. Once Brianna hung the wind chimes in her home,
she’d be safeguarded. </div>

<br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I have cause to travel up and down the California coast on a
regular basis - a five hour journey through vineyards and far reaching hills on
either side of the 101 freeway that is surprisingly rural in all directions. While
my husband drives, our two German shepherds sleep in the back. I stare out the
window where my imagination climbs every verdant incline and taps out a cadence
along every golden path. I pretend I’m a part of all I survey, that I belong to
the vista in a way that is so personal it colors my emotions with nostalgia as
I sail through a moving parallel reality. </span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Sooner or later, I put in my earphones and scroll through my
musical playlist, which turns the trip into an audio/visual experience, but I
noticed just yesterday that once I do, the songwriter takes over completely. </span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I am in awe of good songwriters and here’s why: they can give
me an entire experience in under five minutes. With finely crafted brevity,
they establish a premise, set a scene, and evoke an emotion that my entire
being accepts without question.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For an
instant, the lines become blurred between the songwriter’s range of experience
and my own. Good songwriters write in a way that is so accurate and truthful,
it makes the human experience uncomplicated by virtue of the fact they
encapsulate it so simply. They don’t need to be wordy or superfluous, they get
right to the point and call things by name with well-appointed clarity. They
are urgent in their cards on the table concision, and this teaches me all I need
to know about writing in general. I’ve been shown from songwriters that writing
is about the right words in the right place without the distraction of bells
and whistles. When I write, I keep this in mind as a principle and it gives me
guidelines that are naturally resonant, which helps me stick to my point and say
what I have to say. </span></span></div>
